For starters, this is not meant to make anyone mad, this website is made to simply share my opinion that I have about the two games and tell you why I think one is better than the other. So if you dont care to hear my opinion and are just gonna stick to one, the other, both, or neither, then YOU DO YOU. I just feel like I have a good reason why one is better than the other and what better place to share my opinion than on the internet.
Honestly, I personally am a fan of both games, I can play both of them for the same amount of time and not really get too bored. But, there are things that I do think are better about both games and I would like to share my thoughts and opinions with you and give you reasons and explinations as to why I think these things are true. But at the same time, I would also like to hear what anyone else has to say about this topic, whether you agree or disagree with what I have to say and also to see what other memebers of the community have to say. Again, just as a reminder, this website is not being made to make anyone mad. It is simply here to state opinions and hear other peoples thoughts and such as well. So please, if anything said here does happen to upset you for whatever reason, please dont leave hate and such. Just please keep it to yourself, thanks :)
Lets start with the basics, shall we?
Here are some of the things that I like more about Rainbow Six Siege than Call of Duty
For the most part, this first reason is pretty self explanatory, but for those that dont understand, let me explain. So in both games you have a fairly large arsenal of weapons to use. In Rainbow Six, you get a limited amount of weapons per character, or operator as more commonly referred to. Its not the fact that each operator gets a weapon the fits their recommended playstyle, its just the weapons themselves are actually realistic. In the more recent Call of Duty games, the developers have been taking a more futuristic approach and its not going so hot in my opinion. I would much rather use weapons like a G36C or an MP7 in gunfights rather than something that shoots balls of plasma like the Banshee shotgun does in Call of Duty Black Ops 3.
So between the two games, even though they are both FPS (First Person Shooter) games, they have very different play styles. So different actually that I feel like it is important to cover. So lets start with Call of Duty, the basic 3 game modes that come to mind when I think of the game is Team Deathmatch, Domination, and finally Search and Destroy. Now there are plenty other game types that are popular throughout the series, these are just the main 3 I think of first. So Team Deathmatch and Domination are basic game types you see in most FPS games nowadays. One is a basic deathmatch with a team of 6 people and the other is based on capturing flags to earn points to win the game. Search and Destroy on the other hand is more "serious". Whlie in the other two game types mentioned where you are basically running through the map like a chicken with your head cut off that also happens to be bloddthirsty, SnD is different. SnD is a game type where you and 5 other players face off against another team of 6 players and you are either defending the objective or you are attacking the objevtive. First to 4 points wins. Simple as that, but thats the point that I dont like, the game mode is just either win or lose. Now if we switch over to Rainbow Six, they have the main game type that is similar to SnD, but it is taken to a new level. In Rainbow Six, you are given a different objective room almost every game and you can lock it down and defend your objective. There are traps and devices you can set up as well to defend the area to the best of your ability. The attackers are given drones for around 30 seconds to try and search for the objective room and if not found, you have to search around the location on foot. When the room is found, you can either play stealthy and sneak around the area to eliminate the enemy or take out the objective, or you can go rushing in guns blazing and probably not end up being so lucky. Either way, you decide how you want the game to go down. This is how I think Call of Duty should have done SnD, that way they would get people talking more and working together to win rather than people riding solo and doing their own thing.
So, the final reason that I like Rainbow Six more than Call of Duty is the simple fact that Rainbow Six is boots on the ground, which meaans that you dont get to fly around with jump boosters or jet packs. Rainbow Six Siege is simply way more realistic compared to the more recent Call of Duty games. This is the main thing that I personally do not like that has been implimanted into the recent games in the series. I personally feel like the jet packs and what not make the game feel and play completely different from past games. It has taken the idea of future warfare and tried to make it seem like reality, but in the process, they ended up ruining the games. This feature alone makes the game feel like it is a crummy version of Halo or Destiny. Call of Duty developers need to go back to their original roots and stick to what people liked and what they got big money for. In the recent years, sales of Call of Duty games have dropped because of this and I dont see whats making them stick to it. Another thing they have added to the recent games is weapons only avaliable to those who unlock them from supply drops, which you can buy with a points system that you earn for playing and winning games and such. The supply drops add new things to the game and are actually very interesting, but what isnt interesting or cool about them is that they can also be bought in the Xbox Live store. Ranging from $2 to $100, you can pay to get these points faster and without even playing the game and you can unlock all of the weapons the game has to offer if you are willing to pay all the money to unlock everything. I think this is very unfair because someone who has never even played the game can go in and get the best weapons in the game and have huge advantage from the start just becuase they paid for everything. I think that is very dumb and should have never been introduced to the games. In Rainbow Six, the only real thing in the game you have to pay money for in the game is character skins and that is a choice if you want to buy them, as is the supply drops is Call of Duty. Mostly everything in the game is unlocked by using the points you earn from winning games and such and you can also buy them with real money. I think this is more fair because even if you dot have the money to waste to buy these insanely good weapons and such, you can grind out the game and play to win instead of pay to win.
So in conclusion, I still do play both games a fair bit and I will continue to do so, but these are just some of the things that I like more about Rainbow Six Siege and things I dont like about Call of Duty. Now of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. So you may not agree with what I have to say and I may not agree with what you have to say, but please just respect that I have the freedom of speech to say whatever I want and that it is just what one person has to say out of the millions of other gamers out there in the world. Thnak you for taking the time to read what I have to say about this topic :).
